This conference looked at social determinants of health and how to care for vulnerable populations—in Europe, West Africa, and the US—through the lens of the doctor-patient relationship. The three co-sponsoring partners provided expertise in areas of global health, physician-patient communication and decision-making, and medical ethics. This conference was co-sponsored with the University of Chicago Center in Paris, the University of Chicago Center for Global Health and the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence.
