The Pandemic and Higher Education: A Global Discussion

Covid-19 affected higher educational institutions around the world. Countermeasures have been taken to continue educating the students and performing research despite the COVID-19 predicaments. But we are left with many questions: Is online education here to stay? What are the advantages and disadvantages of online education? Has the experience been different in different parts of the world? Is there a digital divide in the world? How do global inequalities of class, race, gender, caste, etc. affect access to technology and education?  This discussion featuring directors of the various international centers and programs run by the University of Chicago will address these and other important questions arising from the global but uneven experience of the pandemic.
