Primary Partner Sites 

For our five Primary Partner Sites, CGH will facilitate exchange opportunities for visiting students, faculty and trainees to participate in research, education and training. These exchange opportunities are reciprocal and year-round, allowing for robust relationships to develop for the benefit of global health education and engagement. Below are desciptions of our relationships with our Primary Partners

1. University of Ibadan, College of Medicine (UI) - Ibadan, Nigeria

  • University of Chicago faculty sponsor: Dr. Sola Olopade and Dr. Funmi Olopade
  • UI offers opportunities for clinical services in Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Ob/Gyn as well as research in the areas on genetics, immunohistochemistry and tropical medicine 

2. Bangabandhu Sheik Mujib Medical University (BSMMU)- Dhaka, Bangladesh

  • ​University of Chicago faculty sponsor: Dr. Habibul Ahsan 
  • BSMMU offers research opportunities primarily focused on the health effects of water pollution, environment-related health concerns, and chronic disease

3. Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) - Beijing, China 

  • University of Chicago faculty sponsor: Dr. Renslow Sherer 
  • PUMC offers training programs for residents in Medicine, Surgery, and Family Medicine 

4. Universidad Andrés Bello (UAB) - Santiago, Chile 

  • University of Chicago faculty sponsor: Dr. Brian Callendar  
  • UAB offers clinical rotations for students frmo University of Chicago at a broad spectrum of public and private hospitals

5. Manipal University (MU)- Manipal, India

  • University of Chicago faculty sponsor: Dr. Vinay Kumar 
  • MU offers exchanges for clinical observerships, educational exchanges, and joint clerkships.
