2012 GHI Metcalf Internship Opportunity

The Global Health Initiative (GHI) is a university-wide initiative whose mission is to collaborate with communities locally and globally to democratize education, increase service learning opportunities, and advance novel transdisciplinary, and sustainable solutions to improve human health while reducing global health disparities and inequities.

The GHI Metcalf intern will provide support to meet the administrative and research needs of the Associate Dean for Global Health, GHI Program Coordinators, and other GHI faculty. Student interns should have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, the ability to effectively present information both orally and in writing and the ability to adapt and adjust to changing work situations and assignments.

The Global Health Initiative Intern will have extensive exposure to global health programs and faculty on campus and will be responsible to work with the Program Coordinators to update news and announcements, calendar, and general content of the GHI website; Assist with preparing schedules and itineraries for visiting global health fellows and other short-term visitors to the University; Work with collaborators to prepare for Global Health Seminar Series; Assist faculty with researching and developing curriculum for graduate level global health education programs; Help prepare materials for upcoming global health meetings and coordinate logistics of GHI events; Assist in researching topics and proposal preparation with GHI faculty. This position is ideal for students interested in gaining more experience in global health, education, and program development. All majors welcome.
